Who is she?
Greetings! Thank you for your interest in my website and blog!
I have always hated About Me sections - love them for reading about others, abhor them for informing others about myself. HOW can a couple brief paragraphs give insight into who a person truly is? But, for the sake of connection and hopeful forged relationships, I'll give it a go. Perhaps something about me and my journey will encourage you on yours.
I was born and raised in Oklahoma, moved to New Mexico with my family when I was twenty, then moved on my own to Chicago to attend college when I was twenty-five. I lived in Chicago for ten years, initially hating the concrete jungle, but eventually falling in love with the architecture, the surprises around each corner, the sunlight filtering through tall structures, the sanctuary parks scattered throughout the city, the endless differing neighborhoods, the people, the music, the opportunities galore, biking along the lakefront trail, and then living on Montrose harbor. In Chicago I was an explorer, an observer, and a partaker.
In almost every circumstance I've felt like an outsider looking in. In many ways I've chosen to diminish myself to my own detriment. This blog is one way I am choosing to take presence in this world - to say that my thoughts, opinions, and words matter.
If you're here to read, may my posts create in you a curiosity toward yourself and others. Our thoughts influence our words, and both build our inner and outer worlds. It's my goal to help build a more beautiful world with the words written here.
